How I Work
Bespoke Proofreading & Editing Services doesn’t farm out work to other people. This way, you pay me for my conscientiousness and I get to know my clients.
Before I can give you a quote, I will need your total wordcount, your deadline and a sample of a few typical pages of your document. For book projects I need an approximation of the wordcount and a sample of a couple of chapters.
Students: If you have not yet completed your dissertation/thesis I am happy to work on it chapter by chapter; that is, the work doesn’t have to be sent in its entirety and you can pay as you go. This has proved to be an excellent arrangement for some students.
Please email your document to me as an attachment in ‘Word’ format. I will make amendments using ‘Track Changes’ and return your marked-up copy as an email attachment. You can then view the marked-up document (as well as the original and the final text without the mark ups showing) before deciding whether to accept or reject the changes. I also accept PDF files.
I read ‘blind’ or against copy using the BSI 5261C: 2005 proofreading symbols.
Please send me your document by post. If it is a straight read (blind), keep a copy for yourself as I will be marking corrections on the document you send me. I will charge you the return postage.
